Entering the Shanghai World Expo Museum, the exquisite gold and silver utensils, snuff cases, enamel portraits and miniature mosaics are dizzied. These European-inspired artworks are from the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in the United Kingdom. "Brilliant Vibrantly - British V&A Museum Collection Gilbert Fine Works Exhibition" opened in the World Expo Museum on September 25, the site of the 90 exhibits, from "European feast", "micro works" and "artistic fantasy" three sections, interpretation of the evolution of European court and Western art, showing the exquisite European craft between the 16th century and the 20th century.

"The V&A has a fantastic connection with the Expo Museum, we're both built on the back of a great Expo." According to curator Sun Yi, the V&A originated from the first World Expo held in London in 1851. "The World Expo Museum, as the only official Expo museum of the International Exhibition Bureau, carries the function of inheriting and developing the Expo heritage. This collaboration is particularly meaningful as the V&A's collection of artworks has never been shown before in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, and we hope to open a window on the world for Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta audiences."
